Everything we believe - all the details of our doctrine - spring from knowing God through His Son, Jesus Christ. He's the reason we exist, the goal we aim for, and the explanation of life! He alone offers lasting hope which changes our lives from the inside out!
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory, though performing distinct functions in the life of the world and of the believer. Gen. 1:26; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14.
We believe that the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. As such, it is our sufficient, supreme, and final authority for faith and practice, doctrine and life. 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he became man by being born of the virgin, Mary. In this act, he neither abandoned his deity, nor did he partake of man’s natural sinfulness so that he remains both fully God and fully man. He became man so that through obedience and sacrifice he might become the perfect substitute and sacrifice to redeem those who believe in him. John 1:1; 10:30; Phil. 2:8.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is entirely God and is active in bringing conviction to the world, new life to the believer, and gifts to the church. He indwells every Christian and gives power for service. John 16:8; Rom. 8:9-11; 1 Cor. 12:7
We believe that God created man in his own image, perfect and righteous, male and female. In Adam, however, man chose to sin against God, which resulted in bringing physical and spiritual death upon himself and all his descendants. Man is thus totally depraved, sinful in both thought and action, and justly condemned for his sins. Gen. 1:26-27; John 3:18; Rom. 5:12
We believe salvation is totally of God’s grace and that He has made salvation available to all who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus Christ alone. On the cross, Jesus suffered the wrath of God for sin and rose again the third day as proof that his sacrifice was accepted. All who turn from sin and trust in Jesus Christ are forgiven, declared righteous, adopted as God’s children, and granted everlasting life. Luke 5:32; John 3:16, 36; Rom. 3:21-25; 4:22-25; Eph. 1:5-7
We believe that a New Testament local church is a self-governing, localized body of baptized believers. Its scriptural officers are elders and deacons, and it keeps the two scriptural ordinances of believer baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Its purposes include the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ, the evangelizing of the nations, and the equipping of the Christians for ministry. Acts 2:41-47; Eph. 4:11-16; 1 Tim. 3:1-13.
We believe in the imminent, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will establish His Kingdom upon the earth. We believe that the dead will be raised, that the unrighteous will be consigned to hell, a place of everlasting punishment, and that the righteous will be resurrected and glorified to spend all eternity in the joyful presence of God.
1Cor. 15:51-52; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 20:12-15
